Bob Cowie

Chair of the Board of ENABLE Scotland

Until 2013 I was the Chief Engineer for Openreach, which is one of the five BT Group Lines of Business. I was responsible for the Strategy and design of the network that connects homes and businesses in the UK. The role involves setting the vision and strategy, defining the planning policies, making the business case and bringing forward innovative solutions.
I became a Trustee of ENABLE Scotland in 2011 as I wanted to give something back and am thrilled to now be the Chair of the Board of Trustees. I believe I have the skills and experience to be able to contribute in an area that I always championed in my working environment. At Openreach I was Chair of the Diversity forum and the Disability and Inclusion Champion. Joining the Board of Trustees of ENABLE Scotland seemed a great and exciting opportunity to further contribute.
I believe I am an experienced executive and have a track record of helping to transform large elements of a major business. I can help shape strategy, planning and cost but in an end-to-end way that also maintains focus on the people consuming the products and services offered by ENABLE Scotland.
My fellow Trustees are:
Mandy Bradley
Calum Campbell
Andrew Coull
Grant Hotson
Theresa Merrick
Harry Robertson
Margaret Whoriskey
