Disability Agenda Scotland

Disability Agenda Scotland (DAS) is an alliance of Scotland's major disability organisations. ENABLE Scotland is a partner along with Capability Scotland, Sense Scotland, RNIB Scotland, RNID Scotland and the Scottish Association for Mental Health. Together our experience, expertise and interests cover physical disability, sensory impairment, learning disability, challenging behaviour and mental health problems.
Our aims are to:
- influence public policy and legislation
- provide a forum for decision makers and influencers to obtain advice and information
- promote a better understanding of the diverse experiences, needs and aspirations of disabled people.
In partnership we have
- produced manifestos for the UK and Scottish Parliament elections
- carried out research into Disability Living Allowance and families' experiences of claiming this benefit
- responded to the UK government's welfare reform agenda.
