Getting around People who have learning disabilities and their families need to be able to travel freely and easily both locally and beyond if they are to make the most of any opportunities for work, friendship, family, and community life.
Sometimes people face barriers to getting around easily. These can include lack of money, poor or inaccessible public transport, or physical difficulties. Some people who have learning disabilities may be unable to understand money and deal with fares, or understand timetables.
There are a number of services and schemes to assist people who have disabilities and their families to get around and use community transport and facilities more easily. In this section you can find out about these services and how to access them.
