The Keys to Life, Time for You fund
• Are you living with and caring for an adult or child with a learning disability?
• Would you benefit from a short break?
If you answered ‘yes’ to all of these questions you can apply for a grant to the Keys to Life, Time for You fund. The Scottish Government is providing £150,000 to establish a national Keys to Life Time for You programme where individual carers or families can apply to a national fund for a small grant to pay for their own short break. The fund is administered by ENABLE Scotland, Downs Syndrome Scotland and PAMIS on behalf of the Short Breaks Fund, Shared Care Scotland.
What is the Keys to Life, Time for you fund?
The ENABLE Scotland Keys to Life, Time for You fund offers individual carers the opportunity to apply for financial support to help fund a trip or activity which will provide a break from their caring role. The Keys to Life, Time for You fund will offer small grants of up to £500 to parents/unpaid carers who have a significant caring role for a child or adult with learning disabilities living with them.
The goal of the fund is to help improve the well-being of carers and the people they care for by supporting the financial aspects behind a break or special activity.
Each of the three organisations involved in the fund has a slightly different focus:
Due to very strong interest in The Keys to Life we are unable to accept new applications at this time. If this changes in the future we will let you know. Thank you.
