Going to college

Going to college

College is often the next stage for young people once they leave school. Some young people will also attend college for part of their last year at school.

Many adults who have learning disabilities will attend a college course either part-time or full-time as part of their day activities.

Time at college should provide opportunities to develop new skills that will help people move on in their lives from learning to travel independently to gaining work-related skills and experience. Most colleges of further education have departments or units for students with additional learning needs.
