ENABLE Scotland Young Families Support Network
Being a parent is difficult enough, finding yourself the parent of a child with additional support needs is even more challenging. You may feel alone and unsupported or bewildered and confused by all the advice and information suddenly heaped upon you.
Enable Scotland has experience supporting parents, providing advice and information and making information accessible to those with a learning disability. If you would like to join our growing network of parents and carers of children with learning disabilities, please fill in the application form and post to the address shown or email it to linda.whitmore@enable.org.uk
You will then receive a monthly newsletter for parents containing useful information about support groups, organisations, events, websites and news. You will also have access to support from our Development Officer if you wish to attend or set up a parents’ support group in your area and you will be invited to ENABLE Scotland events for parents and have the opportunity to get involved in our campaigns to improve the lives of young people with learning disabilities. We want to hear your views and will regularly consult you about your experiences so that we can make sure your voice is heard by the policy makers.
