"I was sometimes picked on at school. People find it hard to understand what I am saying. I try really hard, people made fun of me because of that. It’s something I still get. I called a taxi once and they wouldn’t come for me because they thought I was drunk.

"It was a school for people with a learning disability. I wasn’t too bothered about that, I don’t think it bothered me. I got to go to speech classes which helped me speak and pronounce my words better; I wouldn’t have got that at a mainstream school.

"I didn’t have any friends at school; it didn’t really upset me that much, I had my family. It was a bit lonely, but you get used to that. I have made a lot more friends when I was older and that’s good. But when I was younger not many people would come and sit with me."
