Parents and Carers Committee

ENABLE Scotland’s Parents and Carers Committee (PCC) is made up of members from across Scotland.

PCC members are interested in issues that affect people who have learning disabilities and their families.

Many PCC members are carers for an adult family member who has a learning disability.

Some members are also part of a local ENABLE branch.

PCC is also open to people who are interested in carers’ issues.

The Parents and Carers Committee meet four times a year to discuss issues they are interested in.

Some of the things PCC have covered recently are:

  • day services

  • jobs for people who have learning disabilities

  • short breaks for people who have learning disabilities and their carers

  • planning for the future for people who are cared for by older family members.
