Shaping our agenda
ENABLE Scotland has a number of committees which are run by our members. These include:
Parents and Carers Committee
Young Families Support Committee
ACE - Advisory Committee of ENABLE
Each of these committees are involved in shaping the agenda for ENABLE Scotland and influence the work that we do on campaigns and policy. The committees meet throughout the year to discuss key issues affecting people who have learning disabilities in their area.
Issues raised within the committees are also discussed with the Scottish Council, which is the governing body of ENABLE Scotland. The council is also made up of members, so from the committees as well as staff members and the Board of trustees.
ENABLE Scotland has a long tradition of standing up for the rights of people who have learning disabilities and their families. By taking a consultative approach to managing the organisation and listening to our members we are able to ensure we are acting in their best interests at al times.
