Young Families Support Committee

The Young Families Support Committee’s (YFSC) aims are:

  • to identify and campaign on issues affecting the lives of children or young people who have learning disabilities and their families.

  • to influence national policy on issues relating to children and young people who have learning disabilities.

  • to ensure that the views of parents and carers of children and young people who have learning disabilities are appropriately represented within ENABLE Scotland.
There are around 12 committee members who are generally elected from the membership of ENABLE Scotland’s wider Young Families Support Network​

Members should be:

  • family members or carers of a child or young person aged 0 – 25 who has a learning disability

    OR
  • a person with professional or personal knowledge and understanding of learning disability issues within the family.
