Bill Cadger
How long have you been a member of ENABLE Scotland?
I’m not exactly sure. A long time. At least ten years. I was involved right at the start of the ACE group.
How did you get involved with ENABLE Scotland?
My mum was involved and then I joined too. I am part of the ACE group, which is the advisory committee of ENABLE Scotland. We are all people with learning disabilities and it’s the main way that we make sure that our views are heard in ENABLE Scotland.
What is the best thing about being involved with ENABLE Scotland?
I have met so many friends and done so many new things that I wouldn’t have done. I enjoy taking part in workshops and giving presentations.
What difference has being a member made to your life?
It’s changed my life. I have given presentations about what we do at the Tullyallan police training centre and I’m going up to Elgin soon to do a talk up there. I hope ENABLE Scotland is here for other people for another 50 years.
