How did you get involved?
I have a son who is now grown up who has learning disabilities. It has been a great support for both of us.
What’s the best thing about being part of ENABLE Scotland?
There is real support from the other members. People have had similar experiences and faced similar challenges, which means that we can find similar solutions. When we speak as a group our voice is much stronger.
How has being a member affected your life?
I feel much less isolated. It’s good not to have to re-invent the wheel every time a problem comes up. Whatever happens, someone else will have been there and can give effective advice.
