Ryan's Story
Ryan Lochhead is an average 19 year-old. He likes going to the pub with his friends, he shares a flat with his brother and is saving up to buy a car.
One thing that is certainly not average is that he has just set up his own business as a landscape gardener.
Less than 1 in 20 people with a learning disability is in paid work , compared with around 80% of the population as a whole. ENABLE Scotland believes that people with learning disabilities have a lot to contribute to our communities. People like Ryan.
The support he received from ENABLE Scotland's Paisley Open employment project helped Ryan to get a job at a carwash and gave him the confidence and advice he needed to set up his business.
That's why Ryan's career is blooming.
