It's snow go for training for Vietnam

Local couple, Grant and Julie Jardine have a huge challenge ahead of them in 2011. They have pledged to raise £7500 in sponsorship for ENABLE Scotland by cycling from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Grant and Julie began training for this challenge last week, but the recent weather conditions have played havoc with their training programme. Following on from their last successful challenge, crossing the Andes from Argentina to Chile, they are soon to set off on their new adventure in Asia.

Julie, a local Postie in Cupar, said: “This challenge will be totally different from crossing the Andes, where we had to endure the extremes of temperature and altitude, now we will have to overcome high humidity and temperatures up to 40 degrees. With 8 hours cycling each day it will be a tough challenge but also a fantastic experience.”
