Personalisation in Practice
The Personalisation in Practice PDA has been developed by practitioners and academics, and incorporates the practical skills and tools to support personalisation, with relevant theory and research.
Candidates will consider how, in their particular role, they can ensure that people who use services have increased choice and control to achieve better outcomes at home, in work, in education and in social and civic life.
This practitioner led course was developed by ENABLE Scotland and the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities, and is the first of its kind in Scotland. It aims to give a full understanding of personalisation and self directed support, and requires candidates to evidence knowledge and understanding of the legislation and practice requirements, including outcome based assessment and care planning and co-production.

What people thought
“The course really helped me to understand the theory behind the practice and think about how to implement this when supporting people to try new things and achieve outcomes.”
Micheal, Team Leader
“I really valued having some protected time to research SDS and understand more about the implications and opportunities brought about by the legislation. Coming together with other practitioners to explore Personalisation was really beneficial.”
Nicola, Practice Manager
