The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services aims to help the social services workforce to access and make use of knowledge and research for service innovation & improvement. It maintains the Learning Exchange, a digital library containing audio, video and text-based materials to support learning and development.

Social Care Institute for Excellence gathers and collates knowledge about what works in social care.
Social Services Knowledge Scotland is a gateway to information and learning materials to support social care practitioners in day to day work and learning.
- The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
The SSSC is a public body tasked with strengthening, supporting and monitoring the Social Care Workforce. The SSSC has developed a range of Learning Resources; some are focussed on supporting the individual employee to plan and progress their own learning and development, others are intended for employers to support them in developing their workforce.
