Emergency First Aid

The course is a mix of information and practice. You will cover:
Dealing with a first aid emergency
Role of the first aider
Understanding C.P.R. (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation)
Incident and casualty management
Breathing disorders - choking and anaphalaxis
Causes of unconsciousness - hyperventillation, asthma, circulatory and anaphylactic shock, cardiac arrest, faints, recovery position, severe bleeding - internal and external, potential acute fractures, burns and scalds.
Certificates should be renewed every 3 years. Our trainers are accredited by St Andrew's Ambulance Association and participants will get a certificate. This course is a requirement for staff undertaking SVQ units in Health and Social Care 22, 32. Certificates should be renewed every 3 years.
