For anyone who assists people to menu plan & make meals. This one day course will provide you with the knowledge and information you need to make healthy, nutritional choices to ensure a balanced diet.
 
You will receive a comprehensive course handbook, follow an approved course syllabus and undertake a multiple-choice examination paper (lasting up to 30 minutes). Special arrangements can be made for candidates who need support with language or written skills. The course involves a mix of information, group exercises and practical tasks.
 
Successful candidates will receive a Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) certificate.
 
You will cover:
  • A general introduction to food & health
  • The function of food
  • Energy measures & influence on food intake
  • Eating for health & well being
  • Putting it all together – action planning.
