Thousands of reasons for NVT to celebrate
Bellshill tech firm celebrates raising thousands for ENABLE Scotland
Bellshill tech firm NVT has celebrated its first year of partnering with learning disability charity ENABLE Scotland by presenting them with a massive £13,573.
They handed over the cheque at a ceremony in their Bellshill headquarters with the charity’s fundraising manager Jen Niven.
Stephen Park Brown, Managing Director at NVT, said: “We’re delighted to have raised this much money for a very worthy cause.
“Since we started working with ENABLE Scotland, we’ve firewalked, cycled, Kiltwalked, and generally cajoled everyone into supporting people who have a learning disability.
“And it doesn’t stop there – we’re looking at how we can raise even more money this coming year!”
Jen Niven, ENABLE Scotland’s fundraising manager, was delighted to receive the cheque from NVT. “The enthusiasm of everyone in NVT to support us has been incredible, and I’m looking forward to another successful year with them.”
Irene Simmons, PA to Stephen Park Brown, often leads the charge, encouraging NVT staff to get involved in fundraising challenges.
Irene said: “I took part in last year’s Kiltwalk and had a great time, so I’ve been gathering support for it this year. So far I’ve managed to get 15 people in the company to sign up to do the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, and I’ll be trying to get even more to join.”
Jen Niven is grateful that people such as Irene are so keen to help support ENABLE Scotland. She said: “While we support people who have a learning disability in their homes and communities, the money we receive to do this is limited to that support.
“Any campaigning or other initiatives we take on have to be funded from other sources, and companies such as NVT play a vital role in allowing us to continue that good work.
“We’re all extremely grateful for their support.”
