#BeTheChange

March 15, 2018 Campaigning news Lucy McKee

Hi, I’m Lucy.

Over the past few months I have spent time shadowing ENABLE Scotland’s CEO Theresa Shearer, and she has encouraged me to become more active in our campaigning activity. I am now the Chair of National Youth ACE Group (Active Community of Empowered People).

Theresa says that I am a born campaigner, and full of energy and ambition. My vision is for a better world for the next generation of young people who have a learning disability. I do not want them to go through school feeling the way I did. So I am taking action – and you can too!

As part of our #BetheChange campaign, ACE will be hosting a series of ‘Get to Know Us Events’ all over Scotland. We’d love to get to know you and for you to get to know us. This is a fantastic opportunity for people in local areas to hear about the work of the campaign and get involved by signing the #BeTheChange pledge.

If you want more info or can’t make the session – or want to sign up – visit our #BeTheChange campaign page.

We have made a film about bullying which you can watch here – and please share this with your family and friends – anywhere you can spread the message about why the bullying of people who have a learning disability, like me, needs to stop!

We look forward to seeing you and working together to #BeTheChange!
