The importance of partnerships
One of ENABLE Scotland’s most important successes has been the partnerships we’ve developed across the private, public and third sectors, which deliver significant value for the people we support.
Breaking Barriers is an excellent example of this approach, involving ENABLE Scotland, the University of Strathclyde Business School and Scottish Power. The programme enables young Scots who have a learning disability to attend a leading business school, achieve an accredited qualification and gain real work with some of Scotland’s largest employers.
The Institute of Directors (IoD) Scotland asked Theresa Shearer, ENABLE Scotland’s CEO, Melanie Hill from Scottish Power and Ryan Donaghy from SCVO to share the learning from this and other corporate partnerships in a discussion hosted by the Chair of the IoD Scotland, Aidan O’Carroll.
You can read the collective learning from the session, distilled into eight essential points, in Theresa’s blog on the SCVO website.
