Accessible welfare rights
We are here to support people who have a learning disability, as well as their family members, to claim the benefits that they are entitled to.
Our experienced Welfare Rights Advisor is qualified to give advice up to type three national standards. This means we can assist with all stages of the income maximisation process, including representation at the Upper Tribunal.
All of our advice is accessible, confidential, impartial and free. We don’t believe in charging people for a service that is intended to improve their overall financial position. Instead, we believe in offering a quality service that clients can trust in, and that complies with all the relevant standards.
For each client, our advisor completes an initial benefits check. From there, we determine which benefits they can claim before supporting them to complete and submit the relevant paperwork.
First established in 2013 with funds from the Scottish Government, our Welfare Rights Service now supports 400 new clients each year and has so far generated over £2.5 million in financial gains for people who have a learning disability and their families.
