ACE stands for Advisory Committee of ENABLE Scotland, and is an Active Community of Empowered People. ACE is the voice of our membership. The ACE network works in the following ways to represent and connect people all over Scotland who have a learning disability, making sure their voices are heard:-
- Connects people who have learning disabilities in their community around a shared cause.
- Campaigns locally and nationally to challenge barriers to an equal society for every person who has a learning disability.
- Empowers people who have learning disabilities to engage in local and national activism, to challenge society’s perception on learning disability.
ENABLE Scotland hosts 22 local ACE Groups across the country, and a National ACE Group which meets four times each year with representatives from each local ACE group. National ACE is key to informing the campaigning work of ENABLE Scotland – addressing issues that our members tell us are important to them.
Representatives of each ACE Group attend our quarterly National ACE meeting where members share updates from different parts of the country, and elected representatives then also attend our unique Scottish Council with other members across Scotland to debate the big issues that matter, and take decisions about what ENABLE Scotland should do to take action.
ACE is for everyone – get involved!
