This year is the 24th ENABLE Ball and once again, it is an absolute pleasure to bring together friends old and new in the beautiful surroundings of the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum.
I am delighted this year to be welcoming so many more members of the ENABLE family, and to all of our first-time guests, I assure you that you are in for a feast of fine food, excellent music and powerful stories. For those of you who are returning guests, we look forward to catching up and, as you would expect, we have some wonderful surprises up our sleeves. Watch this space…
As your excitement and preparations gather apace, I would like you to keep in mind the incredible impact that your support has on the lives of the people and families we have the pleasure of working with every day at ENABLE Scotland. We look forward to sharing with you those stories. Stories which would not be possible without all that you do for us. Our members use words like ‘lifeline’ and we are privileged to be on their journey with them, but we know so many do not get the support they so richly deserve – and that’s why we strive to bring down the barriers they face every single day.
This year, guests will hear a mix of stories from young people we work with across Scotland. We will highlight their personal strengths and achievements and hear their voice on behalf of all those in Scotland who have a learning disability. We will share their successes and learn how the work of ENABLE Scotland is, and has been, a lifeline to them.
In joining us at the ENABLE Scotland Ball, you join us in the ENABLE Scotland family. We can only continue this work with your support and generous contributions. Together we can break down the barriers for every person in Scotland who has a learning disability.
On behalf of all at ENABLE Scotland, thank you again for your time and commitment. I look forward to seeing you on the night.
