#BetheChange – supporting people who have a learning disability, our Change Champions, to deliver workshops across Scotland using our innovative toolkit designed by the Change Champions – Our champions are delighted to be delivering a sample workshop at the conference.
Making Connections Village – this is your chance to hear about the work ENABLE Scotland does as a campaigning charity to reach out to politicians and key decision-makers to enable change.

Find out about Social Security: Steven McAvoy ENABLE Scotland’s Welfare Rights Officer
Speak to our social security expert about your rights to benefits. You can get information on Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment and how to appeal decisions. Steven supports people to claim what they are entitled to and can provide support with all stages of the process, including representation at Upper Tribunal’s. Steven will be available in the making connections village to answer any queries about personal entitlement & eligibility and the process around claiming.

The launch of our new ENABLE Me Travel App will feature as another of our National Conference workshops.
ENABLE Me, is the ground-breaking independent living skills app developed in partnership with JP Morgan, through the Force for Good programme. ENABLE Me is available on both the Play store and App store and is free to download.
It includes exciting features such as ‘I have arrived’, and ‘I am lost!’
ENABLE Me supports the entire family to build confidence and independence together!

Learning Together – Forward thinking partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University – ENABLE Scotland’s partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University is intended to fulfil our common aims of enabling an equal society for every person who has a
This partnership is working to deliver the common good, by sharing our skills, raising our aspirations for people who rely on social care and people who work in social care. This workshop will explore how we influence the health and social care workforce, address health inequalities, and reduce isolation. This workshop will discuss the three critical workforce development priorities which work towards meeting the needs of the people we support.
7 Steps in partnership for Equal Healthcare – ENABLE Macmillan Partnership – ENABLE Scotland, in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support will introduce their new resource 7 steps to equal healthcare for people who have learning disabilities.
The 7 steps to equal healthcare resources achieve two purposes. The first is to guide healthcare staff to provide services that are person centred and deliver equity of care for people who have a learning disability. The second is to empower individuals and those who support them to understand that equal healthcare is their right and should be the rule not the exception. This workshop will focus on the Macmillan ENABLE partnership’s journey to the 7 steps to equal healthcare, where they came from, what they are and plans for taking
Keeping each other safe – Online Safety Workshop – CKUK offers innovative learning, peer education, drama and safe social networking. We provide engaging, accessible and interactive information and online learning materials through our fully accessible website. Join CKUK to think about keeping safe online. Marilyn Slavin will explore online friendships, relationships, internet, social media safety.
