Money support

Changes to welfare systems and claims processes can be difficult to navigate. For anyone who has difficulty understanding written communications or complicated information, trying to understand how changes might impact them and their finances, and what needs to be done about it, can become all the more challenging.

That’s when our Money Advisors come in.

With funding from the Scottish Legal Aid Board, we have two friendly, professional Money Advisors qualified to offer advice at type 1 national standards.

They are here to help any individual who has a learning disability or a family member living in Glasgow and North Lanarkshire areas. Our advisors can evaluate the benefits that someone should be claiming, explain how claims can be made and help with completing all relevant paperwork.

By providing help to manage finances, we prevent people reaching crisis points, and help them to avoid debt and experience less financial worry.

And for any client who needs advice beyond type 1 standards, our advisors are able to signpost on to appropriate and trusted services.

Our Money Advisors are part of a wider information and advice team that also includes our Welfare Rights Advisor and our money advice project in Fife.
