No Matter What
Every Thursday throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, the country is joining together to #ClapForCarers.
We are so proud of the ENABLE Scotland Personal Assistants (PAs) who are doing an outstanding job on the frontline of the national response to this unprecedented challenge.
PAs like Lynn McGrinder from our North Lanarkshire Services are keyworkers supporting and caring for some of our most vulnerable citizens, and – crucially – ensuring they are safe and well at home and do not need to access hospital services at a time when the NHS is under such pressure.
Lynn tells us how she is responding on the frontline:
When this really difficult situation with Coronavirus became clear, my first thought was, “what can I do to keep the people I support safe and supported?”
Along with my colleagues, we are working as hard as we can to maintain a routine for the people we support – with faces they know and trust being there for them as much as possible.
Different faces or changes to routines can be really challenging and even more so at a time like this.
Using all the tools available to us from ENABLE Scotland and ensuring everyone is safe, we will continue to help people live their lives as fully as we can.
I am proud to support people who have learning disabilities, no matter what!
