Are you interested in working for an award winning social care charity?
Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.
The Best in You Brings Out the Best in Me
The people we support have many varied interests and hobbies and have many of the same dreams and aspirations as we do; they just too often do not get the opportunity to experience these same opportunities. A career with Enable is as rewarding as it is diverse, Personal Assistants at their best have the potential to truly bring out the best in the people we support.
Let me introduce you to Lola, Carrie, Molly and Stan. All are very different individuals.
Lola is a young woman with autism who lives in her family home. Lola enjoys the companionship of support but also enjoys her own space to do the things that give her joy, like watching videos and listening to music on YouTube. Lola's support are on the cusp of getting her out into the community, to visit her favourite points of interest and fun activities e.g. Funfairs.
Carrie is a very independent young woman that gets supported to a day centre twice a week. She takes part in various types of horticulture and will show off her DJ skills by entertaining her peers with her collection of top tunes. Carrie also enjoys helping out as a volunteer in a local charity shop.
Molly is an absolute local character. She takes great pride in maintaining her wonderful home and appreciates the support to do so. Molly enjoys a bus run into town to go for lunch, collect some shopping or pay off some bills. Molly benefits greatly from companionship and a little emotional support too.
Stan suffered from a stroke a few years ago and needs a little support with things we take for granted, we like to help him keep a clean home and cook some meals, especially a bacon butty. Stan has fantastic wit and thoroughly enjoys a bit of banter with staff. He also likes going on an adventure, jumping on a bus to the coast for a game of Penny Falls.
That is why these individuals need you! Will you bring your best so that they can live their best lives?
