Personal Assistants (Support Workers) have the most important role within Enable by making a positive difference every day to the lives of the people we support. No two days are the same for our Personal Assistants but what we can guarantee is that you will be supporting someone who requires support to achieve their goals and outcomes – whatever they may be!
Each person we support has different support requirements, so your role as Support Worker may include assisting them with various aspects of personal care, moving and handling or positive behavioural support whilst expanding their social networks and connections.
Enable creates a bespoke team around every individual we support, and our team of Personal Assistants work collaboratively to ensure the safety, wellbeing and aspirations of the people we support are met.

Let us introduce you to Laura and Rose:
Laura is a woman who lives in her own home and shares support. She has an excellent sense of humour and enjoys staff who can easily communicate with her, have good fun but also give her space if she needs it. Laura has complex health needs, such as Epilepsy and requires assistance to maintain her home, take medication and some personal care duties. Laura is very independent so it is important that any staff member promotes this independence. Laura can take some time to adjust and doesn't enjoy change so it is vital that staff are calm and patient and can invest time into forming a supportive relationship.
Rose is very independent and enjoys getting out of the house, going shopping, to the bank or Church. She is very chatty and enjoys meeting new people. Rose will need assistance with medication but can many aspects of day to day life, all on her own. Rose is energetic and would need someone who can keep up with her outgoing and bubbly personality.
