This October, Enable EDEN proudly hosted a special event in recognition of Black History Month 2025, bringing colleagues together to celebrate heritage, creativity, and empowerment under this year’s national theme: “Standing Firm in Power and Pride.”
31 October 2025
The event created space for connection, learning, and celebration reflecting Enable’s ongoing commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and becoming an anti-racist organisation.
At the heart of this celebration is Enable EDEN, our lived experience network for colleagues from racialised communities. Enable EDEN was established to create a safe and empowering space for connection, advocacy, and inclusion, amplifying the voices of colleagues with lived experience of racism and discrimination. The group continues to shape meaningful change across Enable, influencing how we support, recruit, and grow together as an organisation.
The celebration featured an inspiring programme of performances, storytelling, and conversation, showcasing the richness and diversity of Black voices within and beyond Enable.
Guests enjoyed delicious food from Afro Bites, a live entertainment spoken word performance from IB and powerful contributions from Radiant & Brighter, MoneyMatiX, Migrant Women Press, Afro Bite on Demand and Sanjeev Mann - known as Supermann on Da Beat.
The event provided an opportunity not just to celebrate culture and creativity, but also to reflect on key milestones including the 60th Anniversary of the Race Relations Act 1965, which marked an important moment in the UK’s progress toward racial equality.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and supported the celebration from our inspiring speakers and performers to the colleagues who made the event possible.
Together, we continue to celebrate the achievements of Black communities and reaffirm our shared responsibility to create a workplace where everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered. Enable EDEN will continue leading the way in fostering belonging and inclusion, ensuring that the celebration and recognition of Black excellence extends far beyond October.
