Calum Campbell – Chair & Trustee

Calum was appointed Chief Executive of NHS Lothian in June 2020. One of the largest of the 14 regions of NHS Scotland, NHS Lothian employs 26,000 staff and has an annual budget of £1.6bn.

He has previously worked in several Health Boards within NHS Scotland and held various Director posts within Scotland and Wales. He was appointed Deputy CEO at Swansea NHS Trust, following which appointment he was offered the Acting CEO post. He proceeded to turn around a £12.5m financial deficit through clinical redesign initiatives and went on to achieve a further £15.5m savings in the following year.

In January 2010 Calum returned to the Scottish NHS system and was appointed Chief Executive of NHS Borders. Following this, he became CEO of NHS Lanarkshire in 2015, from where he moved to NHS Lothian.
