ENABLE Works Services
ENABLE Works is a specialist employability service, working across 28 Scottish local authorities and supporting over 5,500 people each year. Each year, ENABLE Works supports thousands of employers all over Scotland to welcome people who have disability, or other support needs, into their workforce.
Stepping Up Live
ENABLE Works’ Stepping Up programme operates in schools across Scotland – supporting young people from 14-19 to develop skills, confidence and ambition for a career and then supporting them to achieve that.
Stepping Up is a comprehensive support programme which takes participants from an initial investigation of the world of work, through a process of discovery and planning for their future, to engagement with employers in real workplace settings.
98% of the young people on Stepping Up go into a positive destination, significantly higher than the national average. 30% of people go into paid employment, 10% go into a Modern Apprenticeship and the other 58% go onto vocationally focussed college and training.
The programme was recognised as best practice at the United Nations in Vienna in February 2020, winning a Zero Project Award for Education. The only winner in the UK.
Breaking Barriers is a ground breaking partnership enabling young people who have learning disabilities to attend one of the leading business schools in the UK within a university campus, achieve an accredited qualification and gain real work experience with some of the largest employers in Scotland.
The first-of-its-kind initiative, delivered by partners The University of Strathclyde Business School, Scottish Power, and ENABLE Scotland has already been recognised as a pioneering project in the Scottish Charity Awards 2018; and has been shortlisted for the Widening Access Award in The Herald Higher Education Awards.
Our ‘All in’ supported employment programme delivers high quality careers for disabled people across Scotland.
Delivered nationally across Scotland ‘All in‘ provides holistic, person centred specialist support for people who have disabilities or long-term health conditions. The aim of our programmes is that clients move into valued and fulfilling work roles.
Following the 5 Stage supported employment model, we provide a 1:1 service to clients which supports clients to identify, obtain and thrive in jobs within the open labour market. We do this through Vocational Profiling, Job Analysis and Matching, as well as Job Coaching in the workplace, as required.
We also provide support to people already in the labour market who need support to retain jobs or to progress their careers.
