Stronger self-advocacy, better deinstitutionalisation will be presented by Marek Bohuš and Marian Horanic, ZPMP v SR, Slovakia Tarkan Bashllari and Enron Seiti, Help the Life, Albania Self advocacy will be explained.
Marek Bohuš and Marián Horanič, Slovakia. Marek is one of the group of self advocates leaders who is active on advocacy and promotion of rights of people with intellectual disabilities. He participates on educational activities and workshops aimed on rights of people with disabilities. Marián is vice director of The Association for Help to People with Intellectual Disabilities. They will join Tarkan Bashllari and Enron Seiti from Help the Life, Albania to present on self-advocacy.
Tarkan Bashllari and Enron Seiti, Albania. Tarkan studies Political Science and was the co-founder of the Students' Parliament of Albania. Tarkan is also Head of the Albanian Autistic People's Self-Advocating Group, founded in 2022. Enron works at “Help the Life” Association as a Project Manager and he helped to establish the first Self-Advocacy group of young people with intellectual disabilities in Albania.

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in action are the themes of the EuropeinAction2024 Conference and to enable this, we have speakers including Ellis Jongerius and Joost Blommendaal from the Netherlands.
Ellis Jongerius and Joost Blommendaal are from the Netherlands. Ellis is director of LFB, the national association of people with an intellectual disability in the Netherlands. and will be joined by Joost, who is manager at the LFB, responsible for business operations.

Speaker Fermín Núñez from Plena inclusión, Spain, will talk through how this can be done how you can transform services for inclusion.
Fermín works in the Communication department at Plena Inclusión España, and is responsible for communication in the 'My home: a life in community' project.

Training Session on Communications and Campaigns. This session will be run by Heather Gilchrist, Enable, and Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP.
Heather Gilchrist is an Enable member and Ambassador and will discuss communications and campaigns. Heather has been instrumental in Enable campaigns such as Enable the Vote, My Own Front Door and Rights Now for a number of years. She will be joined by elected member, Pam Duncan-Glancy MSP.
Pam Duncan-Glancy is a Scottish Labour politician who has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Glasgow region since May 2021. She is the first permanent wheelchair user elected to the Scottish Parliament.

Elisabeta Moldovan and Alina-Ancuța Ursoi, Ceva de
Spus, Romania Ilona Éva Sallai and Tibor Zoltan Czako, ÉFOÉSZ, Hungary, Lora Sapcheva Eroslavova and Marieta Emilova Petrova, BAPID, Bulgaria will present stronger self-advocacy, better deinstitutionalisation.
Elisabeta Moldovan and Alina Ursoi are from Romania. Elisabeta grew up in different institutions in Romania. At 25 years old she ran away from the institution where she was living. Many years later, in 2012, she decided to live independently and became involved in the Romanian inclusion movement, founding the Ceva de Spus Association, which now is an Inclusion Europe's member. Alina is a psychologist working as a support person at Ceva de Spus Association, in Timișoara, Romania.
Ilona Sallai and Tibor Czakó are from Hungary. Ilona is self-advocate at ÉFOÉSZ. Ilona writes and edits easy-to-understand texts. She also teaches university students and support persons on easy-to-read, and how to support self-advocacy while Tibor is self-advocacy coordinator at ÉFOÉSZ, coordinates international cooperations, and teaches at university.

Opening Plenary Session – Learning from Scotland’s Deinstitutionalisation Journey

Actor, Lung Ha Theatre Company
Session will include selected extracts from Castle Lennox
Scotland’s leading theatre company for actors and theatre makers with a learning
disability and autism. Lung Ha produces award-winning productions and works with
a year-round, large ensemble to develop their practice and remove barriers to
participation into the arts. The session will include a presentation featuring recorded
extracts from their acclaimed production Castle Lennox, plus insight and discussion
around how they make their work. With Maria Oller, Artistic Director; Ruth McEwan,
Executive Director; Linda McLean, Playwright; and Actors from the Lung Ha Theatre
Company Ensemble
